VIENNA IS PREPARING AN EASTER BAZAAR

Traditional Easter decorations, artistically decorated eggs, small treats and a rich musical program await you at this year’s Easter bazaars throughout Vienna. A program has been prepared for the young and the old where they will find what they will enjoy the most. Easter bazaars in Vienna open on March 24 and will last until mid-April. Vienna enchants us not only during the Christmas holidays with its Christmas markets, bazaars, decorations and events, but also during Easter. The city invites people of all ages to visit this magical Easter market. The bazaars are spread throughout Vienna, in five locations, with around 225 stalls. These stands, like the whole town, will be decorated with Easter decorations, bunnies, eggs and colorful flowers.

This year, the city has approved five bazaars that should meet the needs of visitors. The three bazaars are located in three locations in the city center, on the squares Am Hof, Michaelerplatz and Frajung. One bazaar will be organized in front of Schönbrunn Castle, and another one on Franz Jonas Square in the 21st Vienna municipality.
The bazaar near Chebrun Castle is one of the more romantic Easter markets, because of its architecture and its very position it creates an idyllic spring atmosphere. About 70 exhibitors will present themselves at this market, offering visitors different types of culinary delicacies. Easter workshops have also been prepared for children, where they will make marzipan bunnies, as well as flower arrangements. During this time, adults can enjoy the pleasant ambient music of the “Jazz at the Easter Market” festival. Every year, at the Easter market near Frajung, the biggest tower of eggs is made, containing about 40,000 painted and decorated Easter eggs. In addition to this attraction, there are many other specialties that are made on the eve of Easter, as well as various handicrafts, which visitors can buy.
