If visiting the holy city of Machu Picchu is on your wish list, you’ll have to wait. Due to the current political unrest in Peru, the government has decided to suspend all tourist activities.
The tour of this historical wonder, which is under the protection of UNESCO, is something that everyone should visit in their lifetime, because the remains of this city show the value of time. However, we have to leave that visit for later, since visiting Peru for tourists is closed for now. This decision was made to protect tourists from attacks and hooligans. Currently, there are about 400 tourists who happened to visit one of the seven wonders of the world, and some of them decided to walk to a nearby village, which takes up to 7 hours of walking. Those who booked and bought their tickets to Peru a long time ago will get their money back, because the government puts people’s safety first. Trains and other means of transport headed to this South American country were also suspended.
It is uknown how long these restrictions will last, as well as the unrest in Peru, but it is certain that the tour of this historical heritage can wait at least for a while, until it is determined that it is safe for visits.
