At the beginning of each year, you should think carefully about where you will travel throughout the year. Each trip brings its own memorable events, so it is not an easy task to choose a new destination that we won’t remain indifferent to when you visit it. We present to you five destinations that we are sure will take your breath away when you visit them.

1. Kanazawa, Japan

Magical gardens, galleries and unique history

With a long and rich history, the perfectly preserved historic districts of Kanazawa exude a magic that takes you back in time. A shining gem in the center of the city is the Kenrokuen Garden, one of the three great Japanese gardens. Designed to enchant year-round, the snow-covered branches in winter, cherry blossoms in spring, water-colored leaves in autumn, have amazed visitors for more than two centuries.

If you’re interested in learning more about Kanazawa’s samurai history, explore the Nagamachi district by foot. Located just behind Kanazawa Castle, here you can visit the restored residence of one of Kanazawa’s most influential samurai, Nomura Denbei Nobusada.

History buffs will also want to head to the Higashi Chaya district, where old geisha houses take center stage.  Affectionately called “little Kyoto”, the city also boasts a modern . For example, the Museum of Contemporary Art of the 21st Century presents programs of interesting exhibitions. Meanwhile, foodies will be in seventh heaven at Omicho Market, where they can expect some of the freshest, best fish and seafood in the region.

2. Dominica, Caribbean

A place for the best adventures, excitement and spiritual inspiration

Whether you reach Dominica by air or sea, you will understand why the island was named Waitukubuli (its body is tall). The majestic peaks of the Dominican volcanic, wooded mountains are simply inspiring.

It’s clear why Dominica is known as the Caribbean’s Nature Island and is a great value for outdoor adventure enthusiasts, even if you’re a scuba diver or decide to walk the Waitukubuli Trail. Divided into 14 segments, the Caribbean’s first long-distance hiking trail showcases the heritage, culture and wild beauty of Dominica in one walk.

To experience a multitude of spectacular nature in one place, head to the heights of Laudate – Dominica’s highest village. Here you can soak up the splendor of Lake Boeri, and join the legendary Dominican Lake Boeri hiking trail, but you’ll need a guide for this.

In addition to being an exceptional destination for nature and adventure lovers, Dominica is also a place to better understand Caribbean history and culture. For example, the Kalinago Barana Aute showcases the history and contemporary culture of the indigenous community of the Kalinago Islands.

3. Bohol, Philippines

Wildlife and breathtaking beaches

As part of the Visayas Islands, the central island group of the Philippines, beautiful Bohol is known for its heavenly beaches and lush forests.

As such, Bohol is a fantastic destination for travelers looking to spice up their beach vacation with wildlife viewing and adventure activities. Located in the center of the island, the Chocolate Hills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are a must-see for every tourist. Over 1,000 almost identical and symmetrical mounds represent one of the most famous sights of the Philippines. If you are interested in animals, in the Philippines you can see the smallest primates in the world, as well as enjoy diving in the endless ocean.

4. Córdoba , Argentina

Gaucho, art and German culture in one place

With a dynamic atmosphere that comes thanks to its student population, Córdoba , Argentina’s second city, is no longer overshadowed by Argentina’s capital, Buenos Aires.
Undeniably colorful, Córdoba is a place where the new meets the old. The well-preserved core of the city is full of colonial churches, monasteries and municipalities, while the Cultural Center of Cordoba gives a touch of modernism.
The Córdoba region is full of interesting activities, apart from horseback riding, you can also experience guacho culture at Estancia Los Potreros Ranch. If you still want something different, head to Villa General Belgarno, where you’ll find yourself surrounded by Alps-style houses, and the aromas of sauerkraut sausages and strudels will waft from the restaurant.

5. Antarctica
A snowy undiscovered beauty is on everyone’s wish list
The land covered with snow is the seventh continent on Earth. Its far wilderness has been featured in nature documentaries and in our science and history books. And for these reasons it can seem somewhat abstract and difficult to access. Maybe even impossible. But it didn’t. Despite its seemingly impossible distance, Antarctica has never been more accessible to adventure travelers. In fact, more than 45,000 people traveled to Antarctica in the 2016-2017 season from all over the world, including the United States, China, Australia, Germany, Canada, England, France, India and many, many more.
The best time to visit Antarctica is from late spring to early autumn, which in the southern hemisphere is from October to March. The best way to start your Antarctic adventure is on a unique expedition ship. Unlike traditional cruise ships, expedition vessels are much smaller and allow passengers to not only get up close to the continent, but actually get up close and personal with the glacial landscapes that make it so famous.
We believe that each of these destinations will leave you breathless in its own way. Every place has a new atmosphere and charm, which can only be experienced live. But it’s not bad either, right? Which of the destinations would you visit?
