- DESTINATIONS
Autumn has already arrived, and this golden season is a great time to travel! Here are our suggestions of which five destinations to visit in the fall. One of them is in Serbia!
Amsterdam – Northern Venice
A land of windmills, clogs, and tulips, rich in picturesque landscapes, each season is colored with special memories in the memory of tourists and travelers. If you’ve visited Venice, got lost in one of the many narrow streets and wondered how many bridges you have crossed while walking through the city, you may be surprised by the fact that there is a city lying on more canals than this Italian beauty. Amsterdam is just that!
Although this part of the Netherlands is very rainy, a rainy day in Amsterdam is not at all gloomy and boring as it is a good time to visit one of the many museums. Considering that it is a relatively small city and the number of museums on its territory is huge, Amsterdam is a city with more culture per capita than any other in the world! Here you will have the opportunity to see, hear and feel the greatest parts of the World Heritage Sites such as the Amsterdam Cultural Herald, the Rijks Museum, the Van Gogh Museum, the Anne Frank House, the Stedelijk, The Museum of Sex and the Museum of Torture. There is also the Heineken Museum, where tasting is not only allowed, but it goes without saying.
The Dutch are known for their strong love for cycling. To feel the magic of Amsterdam in everyday life you can rent a bicycle or stop a cyclist with a yellow basket behind and ask for a ride. This is not only an interesting way of transportation to your desired location, but also a chance to meet the locals, feel the impulse of this city and experience its spirit.
Prague – a modern metropolis in medieval attire
One of the most visited tourist destinations in Europe is located in the Czech Republic. With its rich history, lavish cultural and historical monument complex and the energy of the world metropolis, the Czech capital on Vltava leaves no one indifferent.
To many, the first association to Prague is the Charles Bridge, decorated with 30 statues of saints. This is one of the hubs in Prague. There you can find vendors along the bridge with various trinkets, artists, but also numerous tourists. The bridge offers beautiful views of Vltava, the castle and the towers. Although big crowds are often present here, this part of the city is a vein of the lifeblood of Prague and should definitely be visited.
What you should definitely visit is the Havel Market – a 13th-century market dating back to 1232. Its greatest importance lies in its longevity and tradition. Your visit list should also include a very photogenic Book Tower, an installation housed in the Klementinum Library Hall. This interesting installation is in the form of a hollow roller made of books, so visitors can look inside. As mirrors are placed on the top and bottom side, it creates the optical illusion that this tower is endless. To fully relax and get into the book universe, you can buy earplugs at a nearby vending machine.
Beer lovers, connoisseurs, or curious people alike should look for the Brewery and Restaurant “U Fleku” that is more than five centuries old and has its own brewery. Believe it or not, this brewery, founded in 1499, has retained its authentic medieval appearance, and the fact that there is no wi-fi in the brewery also contributes to this. The beer you can order at this beer temple can only be ordered there, as it is not distributed outside the brewery.
FLORENCE
When is the right time to visit Florence? ALWAYS. There is not a day, a month or a year when you would stop by this city and not be blown away by its beauty. Still, in the fall, when the temperatures drop down enough to make the walk as pleasant as possible, Florence looks like a true Baroque beauty in its bronze shades.
You’ll see beautiful sights at every step of the way, you don’t have to look for them; All you have to do is walk along the narrow Italian streets that will always take you to an interesting place. One of them is the Piti Palace, the former residence of the Medici or the Signor Square with numerous 14th-century sculptures. The del Porcellino fountain, in the shape of a boar, is one of the main tourist attractions, located on the market Mercato Nuovo. This fountain is believed to bring happiness to the one who strokes the boar’s nose and puts a coin in its mouth. The money raised is donated to a charity. The most beautiful view is definitely located at Ponte Vecchio, one of the six bridges that connect the banks of the Arno River. The bridge is believed to have existed since the time of Ancient Rome, although it was first mentioned in the documents only in 996.
